Todays blog from Alan Hatton-Yeo

Is it time for the politicians here in England to develop and adopt a comprehensive strategy on ageing? The Welsh Government are now consulting on the second round of their "Strategy for Older People", the first being produced as long ago as 2003. It makes me wonder why the Government here has decided that England doesn't need a strategy for an ageing population. Yet in the light of so many disparate but well meaning ageing-related initiatives being launched - not least the Prime Minister's well publicised dementia challenge - will a lack of joined up thinking be something to regret?
