UN Issues New Report on Intergenerational Solidarity

In a new report, "Intergenerational Solidarity and the Needs of Future Generations," UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon examines how the UN system can respond to the needs of future generations through the principles of sustainable development. The report outlines the ethical ideas of intergenerational relationships, actions at the national level on this topic, and possible options for institutionalizing the issue within the UN system.
