Latest Project Launch

Posted in: News on April 27, 2015

The official launch of the Cancer Advocacy Project in East Staffordshire took place on 22nd April. The event took place at the East Staffs Council for Voluntary Services in Burton upon Trent.

East Staffs Area Co-ordinator, Hilary Stefanelli, gave an interesting presentation outlining the work of the project and guests were treated to the first public showing of a short film in which volunteer advocates and people who have used the service share their experiences.

Hilary was joined by our England Programme Lead, Lynne Wealleans, who gave a brief history of the Beth Johnson Foundation and an overview of the pioneering work that has taken place over the life of the organisation. The launch was very well received, and attendees came from a wide range of local organisations – even the local press came along and took some photos so look out for us in the Burton Mail!
