Reforms in Care Homes-Still Waiting

June 16, 2016

Today Paul Burstow writes in the Guardian saying 'A supply of reliable, good quality care is urgently needed to meet the needs of our ageing population. More needs to be done to provide leadership and invest in staff'. The report mentions the statement from Jeremy Hunt, speaking to a local government office that families need to take greater responsibility for the care of their loved ones; in reality there are a high number of people who do not have any children.
The Beth Johnson Foundation and AWOC (Ageing Without Children) have recently released a new research report 'Our Voices' which covers in detail the number of people who do not have a family for many reasons; this is available to download by going to the website here.
