New Project

The Bereavement Help Points Project is a new initiative for the Beth Johnson Foundation (BJF), developed in partnership with St Giles Hospice in Lichfield and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic the UK Government introduced explicit rules around the rituals of death and dying. If a loved one was hospitalised with Covid-19, no visitors were allowed at the bedside, and people were often only able to communicate with their loved ones via telephones, computer technology, or through glass, even up to the point of death, and regardless of age.  Funerals would only accommodate up to 10 mourners, and no commemorative social gatherings were allowed.  Read more: https://www.bjf.org.uk/current-initiatives/bereavement-help-points
