Healthy Generations

Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, Healthy Generations is a free project for people aged 50+ living in Stoke-on-Trent.
The information and support that people need to age well is important to us at the Beth Johnson Foundation. Healthy Generations brings together both young and old, helping people to use digital technology to learn new ways to improve their health and wellbeing, giving them more ways to find information and try new things that can help them enjoy a great quality of life.
Currently we are delivering online themed Zoom sessions to offer social support and help reduce isolation during the Covid-19 restrictions. See our 'What's on' on our new Facebook page for session details.
From October 2020 we will be delighted to begin the delivery of our digital Positive Ageing and Wellbeing programme! Sessions will be held over Zoom online video, so you can get the information you need to help you keep a healthy body and mind, from the comfort and safety of your own home. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know much about using a computer, tablet or smart phone, our Volunteers will be there to support you at every session.
Our free programme sessions are based around five themes - you can join us for one, or come to them all! We will be holding 2 to 3 weekly sessions per theme, depending upon the needs and skills of the participants, with optional support between sessions if required.  These sessions include:
Digital Skills & Social Media
Art and Wellbeing
Emotional Wellbeing
Physical Wellbeing
Diet & Nutrition
Healthy Generations sessions will help people to:
  • Meet new people and make new friends and connections
  • Use digital technology to help people to stay healthy and independent
  • Try new things such as Tai Chi, art and relaxation exercises
  • Find out about local services and activities close to where you live
