Transitions in Later Life (TILL)

Transitions in Later Life (TILL) Part of our Lifecourse/Positive Ageing work, the TILL project is currently funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation within their national programme.
BJF have been developing its work around life transitions including planning and preparing for retirement and later life since 2010 and has produced training and resources around Ageing Awareness; Planning and Preparing for Retirement and Managing Change.
This latest project delivers training in community settings that enables people aged 50 and over to develop skills to maintain emotional and mental wellbeing into later life. We are receiving positive feedback from participants including that, although it is different to traditional retirement courses, it is interesting because it looks at retirement and later life from the angle of it being a time for opportunities and choices whilst acknowledging and exploring tools to manage changes and challenges.
Project delivery will be completed by the end of March 2017 and will be independently evaluated to enable us to draw conclusions and make recommendations about the future development of this theme of work.
