With a heavy heart, Trustees and staff at the BJF recently celebrated the contribution that our Chair of the Board of Trustees, Professor Ziv Amir, has made to our organisation when he stepped down from his current role. Previously, Ziv was an academic and social scientist with a long research interest around the socio-economic aspects of living with and beyond cancer, and until 2012 he was the Director of the Macmillan Research Unit at the University of Manchester, UK.

Ziv has made a significant difference to the Foundation, and witnessed many changes during his time with us during the challenges of COVID and post COVID impacts due to funding challenges.

Ziv is now going to take a well-earned rest and enjoy his time travelling and visiting his family in Canada and Australia.

On behalf of the staff, volunteers and fellow Trustees, we wish him well, and I want to thank him personally for his continued support during my time here as CEO. May you travel swiftly and safely wherever your next journey takes you, Ziv.

Many thanks
