Later Life Planning

As adults we don’t often get the chance to spend time reflecting on our lives and planning for the future. Retirement planning is often thought of in terms of financial planning but it is so much more than that.

BJF can deliver a training programme or informal workshops on planning and preparing for retirement and later life. These have been co-produced with our communities until we reached a popular framework of:

  • Practical approaches – what do we need to consider and plan for

  • Food for the soul – what makes us feel good

  • Coping with life changes

At the end of the sessions participants tell us that they feel more informed and in control and have found it easier to make decisions. They also learn new skills to manage unhelpful thoughts and emotions. Sometimes when planning for retirement it’s about what you’re not going to do as much as what you are going to do!

These sessions have been successfully delivered in community venues, local authorities and businesses. Get in touch with lynne.wealleans@bjf.org.uk for more information.
