" We need more volunteer Digital Friends! I help older people so they can connect to their friends and family. The most rewarding thing about being a Digital Friend is seeing people smile when they realise they are able to do things they thought were impossible to do. Also you are able to make many new friends that will appreciate what you are doing for them and have a great time."

"With the advances in technology It’s like a lost world to me at the moment but Jon is helping me to find my way round. It’s great to have someone to help, Jon explains things in a clear way and also he is very king and patient which is very important. I’m feeling more confident in using digital in my everyday life."

Do you want to join our volunteer team helping older people to use digital technology?

You don’t need to be a digital expert to volunteer, all training is provided

Digital technology has transformed our lives and is now central to things such as communications, health, work, public services, shopping and leisure. It is more important than ever that everyone has opportunities to develop basic digital skills and confidence.

BJF is recruiting volunteer Digital Friends who are patient and willing to help people  to learn what technology is, how it can be used to stay in touch with family and friends and how it can open up a new world of connections.

Personal experience of using a digital device such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer will be helpful, but Digital Friends don’t need to be technical experts. Volunteer Digital Friends support older people at our monthly Tea & Tech sessions at Parkfield House.

Are you good at listening and able to offer friendly and helpful digital support to people?  If you would like to become a Digital Friend Volunteer, please Contact us or call 01782 844036

Help us make sure that nobody gets left behind in the digital age.
